Happy Birthday my dear son!

Chad will be 18 on December 12. Goodness, this time has flown by. It really seems like just such a short time ago that he was placed in my arms. I had no earthly idea what to do with a baby and I was scared to death. Not sure how well I did as a parent but I cannot imagine my how empty my life would have been without Chad. Things have not always been easy and I suppose any of you who have survived teens would tell me this is normal. We are back to the point where I truly enjoy spending time with him. So, at this Christmas season, there is a birth mother I will probably never meet, who more than 18 years ago, was a young lady, not sure what direction to take. She sought counseling for an unplanned pregnancy. Abortion was an alternative she did not choose. By taking the harder route, she gave me the greatest gift I have ever been given and I cannot thank her enough! Judy

  • Judy -

Adoption stories always make me cry. My sister's oldest son is adopted and she went on to have two others the "hard way" as she puts it! None of us can imagine what our lives would be like with out Isaac around. The funny thing is that he looks so much like my BIL that no one would ever guess he wasn't theirs by birth! God works in mysterious ways!

  • Aaaaaaw Judy. Thanks for the good little cry.

    Happy Birthday Chad!

My niece found herself pregnant at much too young of an age. She phoned my Mom (her Gram), crying...saying that she didn't feel right giving a baby away. My Mom, bless her heart, said the most powerful thing that I will ever know: "Honey, you're not giving your baby away, your giving your baby a better way."

Chad is so fortunate! Sometimes no teen feels that way...but they've got so much to deal with.

He looks so huggable!!! Give him one for me, will ya?

  • Judy,
Happy Birthday to your adoption miracle! I know I can't even imagine our lives without our two daughters. I always think about their birthparents on their birthdays especially. Thanks for sharing Chad's picture. He's quite a nice looking young man!

  • Happy Birthday Chad! 18 is a special birthday..congratulations!!

And to you Judy, for sharing with us..*VBS* As an adoptive mom of 5, I know nothing can every begin to expain or express how we feel when that absolutely priceless bundle is given into our care. My oldest DD#1 came on Dec. 21st, 1967...and is our Christmas angel to this day..*VBS*
I have been blessed to have her birth mom as part of our lives this past 10 or 11 years, and she is "our" daughter now. She is an only child for her birth mom, and a blessing for her also. Sometimes it all works out..*VBS*

  • Happy Birthday, Chad and Judy! I bore my two kids, but when my DH adopted them, I had to adopt them, too. They have both thanked me many times for giving them this father -- I too am blessed.

  • Judy and Chad, God bless you both on this special day. DH and I also were fortunate enough to adopt our two children. We were so glad to be parents even though we had to be very patient during the long wait. Our daughter is now 27 and the mother of our only grandson, Carter, age 3. We, too, always ask God to bless the birth mother as she was very brave and unselfish.
Enjoy the Maverick ring and am very motivated by all you gals!
