Blogger is Scaring Me

What is this blog thing doing? I couldn't even sign on with Firefox so I had to switch back to IE. Today was spent quilting . . almost non-stop from 7 a.m. til a bit after 10 p.m. That's a lot of standing at the longarm. One of the quilts I did was a new to me panto from Willow Leaf called Calla Lily. It's a lot of quilting and at first, I was thinking I didn't like it but it surely quilted up pretty. Two more tops to quilt and lots of binding left to do but there's definitely light at the end of the tunnel for me. Judy

  • wow, that is a lot of quilting--so pretty though. And take care of yourself, that is a lot of standing and working while concentrating pretty intense.

  • I love this panto! I think this is a way too complicated for a "newbie" like me though. I will stick to my Circle Lord templates for now.

  • Oh yes, I've been butting heads with blogger over photos myself the past few days. Maybe I should see if it's giving me trouble from my husband's computer.

Nice panto though! I played with the HQ16 in the beginning of this year and tried random free-motioning, doing a stencil and even going behind the machine and doing a panto. I did the worse on the panto. Guess I like to see where the needle goes. :P

  • I can see why that took you hours standing in front of your longarm! Bet it took a lot of thread from your spool too.

What does the front of the quilt look like?

  • That looks pretty, although way too complicated to do with just a home machine! I had a hard time doing the hearts on Alex's quilt.

It's too bad you can't sit and move the machine. I'm assuming you're using a frame with a machine.

  • Wow that is a lot of quilting, but it looks great. Blogger is acting up with me too and I can't left comments at Cynthia her blog.

  • You're right - it is a lot of quilting, but it's such a pretty pattern!

  • I love the detailed quilting on this quilt but it's way out of my league of expertise.

  • Judy that is absolutely breathtaking...take care of yourself though...that was a very long day standing.

  • That panto is beautiful-I've been avoiding florals, going for more generic ones, but I might try Calla Lily.
Take care of your neck and shoulders spending so many hours at the LA.

  • What a beautiful quilting pattern, it certainly looks very time intensive though

  • That's some dense quilting, is that the back or is it a wholecloth quilt? I'd love to do some calla lillies, but I'm not up to that one, for sure!

  • Oh Judy, I *love* the quilting on that!! I can't imagine how long it takes...but the result is stunning!

  • That's gorgeous, Judy. A lot of work, but it was worth it! Can't wait to see the front, but I guess if it's a book quilt, we'll just have to wait! :)

  • Do you bind you quilts by machine?

  • I'm hoping you had a good book on your iPod for all that quilting!

  • I like the calla lily pattern. Looks pretty on the back. After quilting, I often liked the back of client's quilts better than the front, because the quilting shows up so nicely.

Blogger has periodic problems. I use Firefox exclusively, and find that if I wait a while, there's no problem. I think it has to do with how many people are signed on to the site at any given moment.

There are times when it's just impossible to upload photos, and other times when they zip right on, usually at 2 am. =) Friday and Saturday nights are good nights, probably because all those young people are out on dates instead of blogging. =)

I'm thinking blogger needs to expand it's space or whatever.

  • That is really pretty quilting, and it does look like you put a lot of work and time into it. There is no way I could have kept up at it for as much time as you did without creating serious errors. I have to go do some quilting of my own, so thanks for the inspiration. If you can do all that, surely I can do a simple stippling.
