I Knew It!

As soon as I set up a new blog ring, webrings would be back up. Supposedly they've solved their problems so everyone please remove the ringsurf info from your blogs and tomorrow I'll delete that ring. And, if you haven't done so already, be sure to join Bloglines and get all your buddies added. I had not done that yet but I will do it before going to bed tonight. And, remember that fabric I ordered . . the one that I ordered five yards twice? It isn't right either! So, I now have 20 . . yes, that's TWENTY yards of wrong fabric, 5 yards of one, 5 yards of another and 10 yards of another. But, I'm still a trooper. I ordered 5 yards of another one today. And, if that one isn't right, I will come up with a new plan for this quilt. Thank goodness it isn't August yet because I committed to Vicky that I would join her in August and buy NO fabric in August. I shouldn't need any backgrounds for a while but everything I make will have the same Benartex background . . just in different colors. Judy L.

  • Wow you are persistent trying to get the exact fabric. And enhancing your stash while you are at it!
    I think you can send a patch of fabric to the quiltshop and ask them for the match of it. I can't think of the one that sends catalogs - Keepsake quilting? Hancocks of Paducah? anyway, the order form always asks for a swatch of fabric that they will match for you.

  • ROFLOL! It's not August 1st yet, so you're safe! Whew! Under the wire! LOL

    I've done that same thing, Judy. In fact, I used a fabric not long ago - on a quilt I sent you, that was my second wrong attempt at ordering something to match! But unlike you :) I just gave up! LOL

    I'm sure glad everything if fixed, because I sure was missing all of you!!

  • Wow. 20 yards. I hope you have enough FQs to go with that! LOL! Sometimes, if I like a fabric enough, I buy a whole bolt of it. I have a series of basket quilts going, and they will all have the same Gloria 1865 background, because it was perfect and I love it. =)

    Did the webring people send an e-mail with any reason why they were down for several days?

  • Aren't you glad it isn't a total of 20 yards of all the 'same' wrong fabric! I am sorry you have so much of the wrong fabrics. I think you should get a little free pass for the August goal of no fabric because of the wrong fabric situation- at least for the quilt show in Nashville. :-)

  • You shouldn't need to buy any fabric in August at the rate you are going trying to get the right fabric for that quilt! *LOL* I am also considering joining the "no purchases of fabric for August". I really need to continue stash busting what is in my totes!
