Do you hate to sleep?

I think sleeping is such a waste of time . . when it's time to go to bed but when it's time to get up, I love to sleep. If I had my way, I'd stay up most of the night and sleep til about 11 a.m. but I don't think I've had my way since I was about 3 years old. The alarm will go off at 6:30 and I will wish I'd gone to bed earlier and will promise myself to do better . . but I never do. Anyway, how can I be expected to sleep when there are quilt blocks on the design wall and I don't have a clue what I'm going to make. This is what I've come up with so far. The border design is from Quilters Cache and I've been wanting to use it for something. Thoughts?

  • I like it--the alternating block really sets off the more intricately pieced one in the orange-hot pink-purples. The border is pretty cool too. I think I can see how it is done but will check the quilter's cache link. Your EQ sketch, I assume?

  • I like this quilt a lot, it's bright and cheery... oooh and this one too would look so wonderful with some flower appliqué to go with that wonderful border!

  • That one really sings to me! I'm glad I haven't started my niece's quilt yet. She would love this one. When is the pattern going to be out? LOL

I don't sleep much -- I was so tired last night from not sleeping the night before that I went to bed at 8:30. I sleep soundly for two hours and then roamed around for an hour before going back to bed for two. Makes for a long night. I lay there thinking of all I need to be doing, but get up and am too tired to do any of it.
At least you're productive when you get up! LOL

    Great job - again!

  • Love the quilt--especially the border. I love to sleep too. In my former life, I could sleep standing up with my eyes open! Being sleep-deprived is horrible! GET SOME SLEEP!

  • I love that border. Simply stunning. One of my goals for the future is to work on being more creative with my borders. Why do you get up at 6:30? If you are setting your own hours, then choose your most productive schedule and to heck with it! :)

  • I don't sleep much either. If I didn't have a job maybe I could find time to both sleep and get things done.

I love LOVE the quilt. The border really enhances it.

  • Sleep? I stay up sort-ov late and wake up fairly early. My secret? I almost always take a nap when Little Boy does - yes, he still naps and so does this Momma. It is a perfect schedule for me.

Wonderful quilt design! Good for you for playing with colors and patterns - just for you! Enjoy!

    Cheers!

  • Judy,
You are truly an inspiration to me. I am trying desperately to go "outside the box" and your quilting shows me what can be done.
On the other hand, I can sympathize with Laurie. I've lost my enthusiasm too. I do BOMs mostly-because I feel there's not enough hours in the day to do what I want. But I love reading about what other quilters do.
