Made it!

The storm has passed, no damage to us but I think Madisonville, KY and Daviess County, IN may not have been so lucky. It was windy but we've surely had worse storms than this one. I guess it had the potential to be worse and after what happened week before last, everyone is kinda edgy. I got scared (well . . more scared) when they let school out early to get everyone home before the storm hit. While at home, I went through some files on my old computer and found this picture. The not famous person in this picture is me! :) This was taken at Martha Pullen's Quilt Academy year before last (I think). I'm back at the house in town where all my sewing stuff is and I plan to finish a quilt top tonight! Judy L.

  • So glad to hear you are ok...again...and that it missed you. The idea of stitching the binding down while waiting is a good IDEA, but I don't know if I could or not..most when I worry, I just worry...period! Not very productive.

Our all day rain has turned to snow...just getting the leading edge now. They say 3 to 5" by morning..nasty rush hour I'm think.
In the pic...you may not be as famous, but you are cuter...LOL!!
    Finn sez so..*VBG*

  • Just checked back and was happy to see you are safe and fine. As for the picture, who is that lady in the picture with you? :o) LOL

  • Yes, glad to see you are safe. We keep a big bottle of water and some snacks in our basement (finished) for those times we need to sit out a storm. Having the weather radio and a flashlight is good too, but then Kevin always likes to go outside with his camera just in case he sees a good cloud! Sheesh!

  • So glad you're safe. I've never lived in a place that has gotten socked by a tornado like that. In GA I always knew there was the potential, but it never seemed real. Never had to go hide in the bathroom, which was our safe room since it didn't have windows (there was absolutely no way I was going underneath the house into the crawl space with the snakes, spiders and other manner of vermin).

  • yeayy! glad to hear you are ok!When I got home from work yesterday it was warm (unseasonably)! I told my DH:tornado weather!! I was up till 11 last night knitting..listening to my studio roof creak. Several times I thought it was going to come clean off!!I have a basement here...but I dont know whats scarier, a huge storm or being in my basement!!!!

  • I'm so glad you're safe, Judy. Is this a strange year for weather patterns...or are you always in a threat for these horrific storms in your area at this time of year?

And how cool is that picture! You're both so very talented...and pretty!

  • Glad to hear you're okay -- the weather this year everywhere is really weird -- tornadoes in November? We've got snow showers today -- don't think it'll amount to anything, but it's cold!

  • First thing I thought of this morning was running to the TV and putting on the weather channel and seeing if anything landed near you! I'm so glad you are okay...hopefully this is the END of tornado season til next year!
