Can you help me name this quilt?

I may use this quilt for a pattern and I can't think of a name for it. Any ideas? BTW, the one with the brown/green is a stash quilt! :) And, do you like it? I never know when I do these patterns if I'm the only one who likes them or not. Thanks for any ideas you can come up with for a name. Judy L.

  • These are so cool...they look dimensional! I'm never so good with names, I come up with stuff like "four patch" *LOL* Let me think on it...it looks like 'raised squares' but it needs something cool....I love them Judy, they are great. Thanks so much for sharing what you are working on!

  • The center square reminds me of something like "dresden squares"...just because of the pieces in the raised looking square in the center. I'll keep thinking!

  • I think the outer ring has a celtic feel and the inner a flower or petal so how about Celtic Petals

  • OOoOOooh!!

Love these, Judy! And I like everyone's suggestions thus far. This is fascinating!

BIG CONGRATS on your "American Quilter" fame!!!!! I received mine in the mail today...and even before I read the fine print, I blurted out: "That's MY Judy's!"

    Too cool!

  • This reminds me of a traditional French garden from the 18th century...ordered, symmetrical. Then there is the split pinwheel in the center. Hmmm. But, I don't have a name suggestion for your quilt. I have been brainstorming but nothing is coming to me yet.

  • The purple one definately looks like flowers to me. Celtic Petals is great. I thought A-MAZE-ing Flowers before I read Celtic Petals. Flower Crossroads? Flower Knot? He Loves Me, He Loves Me Knot? (ha, ha).

The brown one has a totally different "feel" to me. Which leads me to think of a more unisex or masculine name - quilters always seem to be on the lookout for quilts for men... so...

Let me go look at the brown one again and I will be right back.

    Cheers!

  • City Streets, City Square, City Park, Town Square, Town Park, Downtown... OK, those are my masculine/unisex names so far... Out of all of these, I think maybe City Park fits both color schemes.

    Cheers!

  • I see movement in the inner squares. Spiraling squares? Swirling Squares?

  • Squared off... I looks like you appliqued a square onto a pinwheel to "square it off." (I guess that ususally is squared up.....)

  • I"m also terrible with names, and I love the green one!

My first thought was square celtic quilts also..... for whatever that is worth!

  • my two cents worth... I vote for Celtic Petals, that's a great name
