Quilts going to Lake Charles

I finally finished the quilts for the lady whose husband was injured prior to Hurricane Rita's arrival in Lake Charles. Her favorite color is olive green and her quilt is greens and pinks/rose made from the Many Trips Around the World pattern in the Tradition with a Twist book. I love that book -- it's the Blooming Nine Patch book. The baby quilt is a panel with an added border. The green one is a big quilt and it was a windy day so Chad had a hard time holding it for the picture but it really is a pretty quilt. They're off to Fed Ex tomorrow. Hopefully these will bring a little cheer to her hectic life. The recipient works for a law firm and I'm sending the quilts there since I don't know her so I'll be anxious to hear her reaction. Judy

  • Wow Judy, for a panel, that sure did turn out well!! You did a wonderful job. I'm sure it will touch the heart of that gal..*S*

The bigger one, the many trips around the world is very lovely also. Lots of cutting and sewing in that one, and I imagine that you quilted it also?? Keep up the great job you are doing..sorry about your blog boo-boo..it was thundering here in WI last night also...scary in November.

  • Judy -

Both quilts are great and I am sure the recepient will love them. You are so kind! As far as Bonnie's houses - yes they are addictive! I am making a wall hanging sized-one with my DD class this week. 16 kids - so maybe 4 houses by 4 houses. Then I may try Tonya's free hand letters to do some lettering on the bottom.

    Thanks for sharing the pics!

  • Judy,

I am the girl you made the quilts for. They are both beautiful. I was very surprised when they brought the quilts to me at work. I was even more surprised when they told me they were from someone I don't even know. You have to be a really wonderful person to do what you did. Thank you so much for thinking about my family and for praying for us when we needed it most.
